The great ski areas of les Arcs and la Plagne are now linked by the Vanoise Express cable car to form the Paradiski ski area with Peisey Vallandry as the hub. A huge diversity of skiing is available with something for every standard, extensive snowboard facilities and even 30km of cross country trails in Bourg St Maurice. This gives direct access to over 625km of marked pistes from 1200 to 3250m including the 2000m drop Aiguille Rouge piste, snowparks, and a huge extent of off piste skiing. As well as skiing in Les Arcs there is the opportunity of skiing in La Rosière and down into Italy for one or more days. A frre shuttle service runs from the village of Hauteville to the bottom of the funiculaire for Les Arcs or you can change to another free shuttle to take you to the bottom lift of the La Rosière/La Thuile complex. For non skiers there are also very good options either in the valley or in the resorts for walks on snow shoes. Lift passes vary from a simple half day pass for the Peisey Valladry area to a pass covering all the resorts in the Tarentaise - the 3 Vallées, Val d'Isère/Tignes, La Plagne, La Rosière (linked to La Thuile in Italy) and Ste.Foy. Cross country skiing is provided for in the picturesque Nancroix valley. Just below the chalet in the Isere valley from the bridge at the canoeing base or from the fields below the chalet a marked piste to Bourg-St-Mauric or down to Landry and Aime 24 Km.

| VANOISE EXPRESS CABLE CAR |
As of December 2003 with the opening of the largest cable car in the world, the Vanoise Express. The internationally renowned ski resorts of les Arcs, Peisey-Vallandry and la Plagne, linked together, became one ‘super-resort’. Skiers from Les Arcs or La Plagne have the opportunity to experience a unique adventure: the voyage from one ski resort to another in just 4 minutes, at more than 380 metres above the valley, through the most extraordinary landscapes. |

The Arc-en-Ciel funicular train which leaves from just behind the SNCF railway station takes just you to Arc 1600 in just 7 minutes. Throughout the winter regular shuttle services mean that you can travel free of charge between the resorts of Les Arcs. |
